remembering the magic garden

Sadly, Eden is lost.... Not once, but twice...

Of course we all know the Eden of Adam and Eva, and the story of the apple of knowledge...

But we have all experienced it too.

When we were young, the world was a magic place... Everything was fresh, exotic and exciting and magic could happen, every day. We were sure there was something strange with that forest, or that forgotten piece of garden... Something the adults didn't care to see.

Most of us grew up, and let reason and knowledge overtook the magic. There was an explanation for everything, knowledge and reason replaced the belief in wonders. And a busy rat race did the rest: no one did even have time to look at the now forgotten garden...

But occasionally, we can be woken up by a familiar scent in early spring, the feel of endless summer nights, the return of swallows at the end of summer.  A change of seasons could bring us back in those childhood years, if only for a brief moment...

So Eden may be lost, but shattered fragments can still be found.

This is my humble attempt to reconstruct some of its grandeur, just like I remember it, how it was - once, when I was young and took the magic for granted...
